Post Paradise Brain Dump

1. St. John was AMAZING! It was so beautiful that it was breathtaking. The snorkeling was great all over the island. Everyone in our group saw a huge spiny lobster snorkeling near Trunk Bay around sunset one day. Everyone else saw a shark. As for me, well, when I heard SHARK I was OUT!

The view from our house in Rendezvous Bay.

2. We took a booze cruise that was legit. The booze cruise took us to Virgin Gorda (we saw where Tyra Banks shot her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Cover in The Baths), Pusser's, and Jost Van Dyke. The Soggy Dollar on Jost Van Dyke is hands down one of the coolest places I've EVER been in my entire life.

My key chain from The Soggy Dollar. It says, "A sunny place for shady people".
We met people from all over at The Soggy Dollar. If you ever get a chance to go to the Virgin Islands, GO!

3. The wedding we attended on Monday evening was one of the best weddings I've ever been to. Just look at the beautiful scenery! That's me in my coral Jessica Simpson dress on the right hand side.

 4. We made friends with some darling wild donkeys. I wanted to take one home with me so badly. Especially one with a cut on his shoulder. As an animal lover I can't stand to see an animal hurt (that's him in the pic below). I fed them oranges and beer. They made such an impression on me that we ended up coming home with the Pandora donkey charm for my Pandora bracelet.

5. The only bad thing I have to report about USVI is that everything is HELLA expensive. OUCH. As in, a Margarita and Ahi Tuna Tacos for lunch one day was $45. That was just what I ordered, not including my boyfriend's meal. Needless to say, I need to think of something REALLY nice to do for him to show my appreciation!! His birthday is coming up in July so that's on my radar as well.

Happy Hump Day Everyone!

Celebrating GOOD news!!

I'm overjoyed to report I've officially accepted an offer for a new job and turned in my two weeks notice!

I'm really really excited about my new job! I think the office climate and morale seems really good. I feel good about the decision to make this change! I'm also super pleased to be getting a nice pay raise.

Tomorrow I'm off to St. John bright and early. I can't believe it's finally here after months of looking forward to this trip. I still have some editing to do to my suitcase. I know when I weigh it tonight editing will be a necessity. It's jam packed right now.

I will be celebrating my new job when I land!

Yes, I am a very lucky girl and my boyfriend spoils me. But, just to show you that I'm not a "lady of leisure" this is me working in my boyfriend's house to change out the hardware. We had hoped the builder would do this as an upgrade, and as you can see we ended up doing it ourselves. Trinket is such a good little helper!

I'll be back on blogger when I'm back w/ a trip recap!!

TGIF ladies!

T- 4 days!

Today means only FOUR more days until I leave for St. John! To say I'm excited is an understatement.

I am still keeping the ball rolling (and my POSITIVE attitude) in my search for a new {better paying} job. I have an interview today that I'm looking forward to, well, as much as you can look forward to an interview. I got some interview help from a friend and I think she gave me some good suggestions. I'm ready to rock it out!

I'm also looking forward to having a break from looking and interviewing and the stress that brings.

I've been packing...

Trinket has gone to stay with my Mom. I miss that little brat. My Grandparents visited Sunday and after lunch at Red Lobster (I looove their biscuits! #fatty), Trinket rode back home with them. I didn't want to put her in the car and watch her ride away!

I was at work Friday and my boyfriend sent a text that he got a surprise. All day long the suspense was killing me. I came home to snorkel gear for our trip!

I also got a DVD :-)

In all my stress of looking for a new job, he is a real bright spot in my life! I don't know how I got so lucky. Sorry if that made you want to barf haha.

Have a great Tuesday! And hopefully this week goes by quickly.

Dopplegangers...everybody's doing it!

My reading list has been taken over by Doppleganger posts so I guess I will join the band wagon. These things are always fun.

I did this pic first

I got a lot of people that were not the correct gender...moving right along...

Robert Duvall?

I've gotten Jennifer Love Hewitt before....Kimmy K, not really seeing it (I think she's stunning though and I LOVE that she's not super skinny).

Then I tried this pic and got some more crazy suggestions including...

I wish I looked like Angelina, I love her!

JK Rowling looks a little bit like my Mom, only older :-). Interestingly enough, I've seen pics of my Mom's ex-husband's current wife at my grandparents (his parents) house and I thinks she looks even more like JK Rowling.

They completely skipped the celebs I usually get told I look like, Ashley Judd and Audrina Patridge.

Happy Hump Day!!

The Weekend in Pictures

I am.so.hungover.today. I can't believe it's just past lunch and I have to make it through the rest of the day. What's even more, I'm determined to make it to the gym after work too. With only 12 days until my trip, I can't afford to waste any time! I'm such a chubster right now. :/

I usually drink wine Sunday afternoon, but keep it to a minimum. Yesterday I went all out. I'm not really sure why except that I was drowning my sorrows about having to return to work this morning! By the time Mad Men came on at 10, I was double fisting Sex on the Beach in one hand and beer in the other. #outofcontrol

I had a terrible week last week. My sweet boyfriend got me this as a present to make up for it. He is the BEST!! Sometimes I don't know how I got so lucky.

We watched it in his "man cave" yesterday. I think Trinket liked it.

Just like I had to get on the Hunger Games bandwagon, I had to pick this up to see what all the fuss was about. WHOA. It's out there, but I can't put it down.

And lastly I'm a HUGE Paula Deen fan, so I had to pick this up at WalMart while I was grocery shopping over the weekend. It didn't disappoint. I've never been to her restaurant, but it's on my to do list for the next time I'm lucky enough to be in Savannah.

Hopefully this torturous day will pass quickly. I cannot wait to be snuggled in my bed tonight. Bedtime can't get here fast enough.

Have a good afternoon ladies!

Keep On Keeping On

So, I started my week out with some disappointing news. Last week I had I made it to the second round of interviews for a job I really wanted, and this week I found out that I didn't get it. HUGE let down. I cried for probably about 24 hours! I was even crying at work-not ideal, I know-but I just could NOT hold in the tears. It was seriously Tear Fest 2012.

I've regrouped now and I'm just going to keep on keeping on! I'm going to keep looking. So far I've been on a total of 6 first and 1 second interviews. Hopefully something will come through sooner rather than later!

In happier news I only have 23 days until I'm in St. John! The time is seriously flying by. I wish I was doing a little better losing weight, but I'm working on it. I also need to pick up a few things to bring with me, mostly I need a pretty bathing suit cover up (or two). I feel like mine are ratty looking.

SO happy this week is almost over! It's all downhill from here.

Tomorrow is a BIG day!

So, tomorrow I have a second interview at what I think could very well be my DREAM job. I would be so so happy to work at this particular place. I think it would be a great opportunity for me. I would be using my degree since this job is in the field I went to school for.

It's been a while since I've been on a second interview, so I know I need to get on google and search for some tips. If you have any suggestions, let me know!

I'm nervous and I definitely want to do my best! To be honest, at certain times in my life I've had {what seemed like at the time} a lot of personal stuff going on (that from my current perspective seems like stupid drama, but at the time...) and I wasn't that "into" my career. As long as I had a job, I didn't care. I guess I've changed, or am in a different season of life, because now my career is VERY important to me. I want to be somewhere where I can move up and grow over time. Now I see the difference between a job and a career, and I care.

On a side note, Trinket and I are IN LOVE with boyfriend's new house. IN LOVE. Here's Trinket taking her weekly bath in the master bathroom sink. This is the small sink, the large sink/counter top is across from this one.

Hopefully I'll be back with good news soon! Happy Hump Day!
