Creepy....

I haven't really been the same since I was robbed last year. I'm a total scaredy cat now. I was at home folding laundry Tuesday night, waiting for Fashion Star to come on (you know I can't pass up a chance to see my girl Jessica Simpson), when there is a knock at the door. I knew it wasn't a friend and I wasn't expecting company. I am so scared all I can do is cower and hide!

I think it is seriously creepy to come knock on someone's door late at night! This is the second time in 2 or 3 weeks that someone has come to the door late in the evening and knocked. Both times I have ignored it.

They need to STOP IT. It makes me terrified. Of course this happens when my bf is out of town for work. I really don't know what do to other than just relocate to my bf's house where I might feel safer, even if he's not at home.

Everyone at work says I need to get up my nerve and look through the peep hole next time so I can see who the person is. I hope there is NOT a next time! It's only happened twice, but it's getting really old!

I realize logically it could very well be a lost pizza delivery person or someone just at the wrong apartment, but when you've been robbed before and you live alone, it's scary!

Dear Creepers, Please do not come knock on my door at night. Or anytime. I don't want company or to be disturbed when I'm in my home. I don't want to make friends, and I especially don't want to be robbed ever again. Please find something else to do with your time. If you are lost and not sure where you are going, well, everyone has cell phones now, find out where you are going and don't go to the wrong place. Love, me

As an aside, I've started The Hunger Games and I LOVE it!!! I tried to resist getting into another series and I thought I might not like it, but so far I'm loving the book.

The Weekend in Pictures...

I know most of you ladies on blogger love the bargain stores (Ross, Marshalls, TJ Maxx) as much as I do. Here's a little guy I picked up at Ross for boyfriend's house. Isn't it the cutest?

At first my bf wasn't too sure about the owl, but he is warming up to it. It's gotten lots of compliments. I am loving his granite counter tops and utilizing his amazing kitchen!

Speaking of bargain stores, I've heard from my sweet and lovely co-worker Keisha that Kirklands is the place to go for home decor. I've never been to one, but now I can't wait to check it out. Do any of you like Kirklands?

Homemade lasagna I made Sunday. Is it just me, or is lasagna even better leftover?

Miss Trinket enjoying a lazy Sunday spent watching a marathon of #SYTTD. "That will go over like a Tootsie Roll in a bowl of punch." I LOVE that show! I would love to one day purchase my future wedding dress from Bridals by Lori in ATL! For me it would be ALL about the dress.

So happy it's Hump Day!! I live and work for the weekends!

Fitness

"My body stay vicious I be up in the gym Just working on my fitness..." -Fergie

Since today makes 38 days until my Virgin Islands trip, let's talk fitness. What do you do to lose weight and/or tone up?

St. John. I day dream about the VI everyday.

I've started eating "clean" most meals, but I'm still having cheat days. I'll be honest, I don't really diet on weekends. I probably need to start dieting all the time going forward if I want to meet my goals before the trip.

I'm making some small changes here and there. I quit making sweet tea at home and starting just drinking water when I'm at home.

I've been getting up early and doing a small workout (a 15 min DVD) before work and then my normal workout after work. I've only done this today and yesterday, but already I feel like it gives me more energy throughout the morning. These two DVDs (Cowboy Cheerleaders and Girls Next Door) are some of my favorites and both have mini workouts. I like this one sometimes too. I hope the two-a-days will help me to lose some weight. I feel like working out before and after work has got to be good for someone like me that is basically sedentary throughout the work day.

For inspiration, Marissa Miller's amazing body.

Tomorrow I have another job interview! By the time I go on tomorrow's I'll have been on five total. I'm encouraged by the number of job interviews I've been on! Now I'm just ready to get a new job and see my bank account a little bit happier on paydays!

Happy Hump Day!

A product review from Trinket

Today I have a product review from none other than Trinket Millington herself! Since she can't type and her grammar isn't the best I will be assisting her.

We all know Avon's Skin So Soft. If you're like me and most people from the South (or maybe it's everywhere), your Mamaw buys it from the jockey lot and that's how you know it! lol

I heard that it repels fleas on animals so I got some at the jockey lot (more correctly I had no cash so my boyfriend purchased it for Trinket) and gave it a try.

I'm not sure how much SSS costs in the Avon catalog, but we got ours for $6 at the jockey lot. Yes, I know that's hood :/

The verdict is Trinket is flea free and the smell is great!

No dog smell, just Skin So Soft smell and the smell lasts up to about a week. The downside is that your pet will be a little greasy.

I wash Trinket with a drugstore shampoo, rinse, pour 2 to 3 capfulls of SSS dircetly onto her fur and massage in, rinse, and then lather her with shampoo again. The second shampoo gets some of the slickness and oiliness out of her fur, but she is still a little greasy after.

I will deal with a little oiliness though if it means repelling fleas w/out having to drop my hard earned cash on Advantage or Advantix and I love having a fresh smelling pet.

Here is the little grease monkey herself!!

Rub a dub, Trinket in the tub!

I've also learned from googling "Skin So Soft uses" that it can be used for:

removing makeup

cleaning off tape marks left from bandages on skin

insect repellent

removing chewing gum from hair, etc.

getting rid of lice

In other news I have another job interview tomorrow for a position I *really* want!! I have my fingers, toes, and Trinket's paw crossed!! Hopefully I will get some good news sooner rather than later!

Furniture Shopping

Monday is here upon us once again, and again it's just too soon for my liking. I thought I would never be able to get out of my bed this morning!

My boyfriend is moving to Columbia (yay!) and we've been furniture shopping for him. My thing is to find the stuffed animal in every furniture store.

I am beyond happy about the move! And if I'm being 100% honest, I am a little scared too. We've been long distance since we met in June, and while I'm thrilled that he will be around more (although not too much given his work schedule), I also hope that being in the same city doesn't cause anything to change. It's almost as if since we don't see each other except for weekends, the "new" feeling or infatuation stage of the relationship has been prolonged.

We're trying to find some affordable, tasteful, and masculine furniture that will go with the style of his new house (which I would describe as traditional and classic, although for some reason the colors in his granite reminds me of a Tuscan villa). Easier said than done. I think we've been to every furniture store in a tri-state area now.

I love the stuff in the Sundance catalog for him, just not the price tag.

Feel free to send any suggestions for furniture stores my way! I know everyone says Whit-Ash is the nicest in Columbia, and I love to go in there (to look at their jewelry), but I spent the money I got as a gift from my Step-Dad when I graduated college on a bed (headboard/footboard) there and I have not been very pleased w/ the way it's held up. It was on clearance and I've heard good things about all their other merchandise, so maybe I just got a bad egg!

Let's hope this Monday goes by quickly!

Bundles of NERVES!

Hello Blog Lovelies!! Today I had a job interview and ever since I got out I can't stop obsessing!

First I obsessed for DAYS about the *perfect* interview outfit, now I'm left wondering if it went well!! Will they pick me? Will I find a new job?

I like the job I'm in, I'm just ready for a new opportunity where there is some growth and I would like to improve my financial situation.

I wore a dark gray sheath dress (similar to this one I found on Polyvore) and black heels. I kept it simple and just wore small gold earrings and my gold MK watch. I think conservative is the way to go for job interviews.

This interview was different from any interview I've ever been in before. They didn't ask you usual, tell me about yourself, what are your strengths, what are your weaknesses, etc. They asked "How do you manage your manager?"

Umm, say what?!

How would you answer that?

I think I did well and I tried to do the best my ability would allow. I guess we will see!! They did ask my about my situation w/ sick and annual leave etc and I mentioned my upcoming trip to VI and they asked the dates, so maybe that was a good sign. Time will tell I guess!

Make bank account would love to see some $$ coming it's way!!

Yay for tomorrow being Friday!!
