No Sympathy.....oh and an update.....

I have returned from a long and wild work week in Atlanta. Our class of 2008 graduated and the ceremony was really, really nice. We had a reception immediately following and it turned out really nice as well. The food was to die for. Chocolate covered strawberries, cheesesticks, coconut shrimp, shrimp cocktial, cheese and crackrs, fruit, and more desserts (and more food I forgot to mention I'm sure). There was a pasta action station that looked really good but sadly I was making sure everyone got on their shuttle to the airport so I didn't have a chance to try it out.

There were several favorites in this group of scholars. I was sad to see them go and was inspired by them. I really am blessed with an amazing job.

I celebrated the end of the week (and year...we don't go back to ATL until January) with my friend Joy that lives in Atanta. She is a friend from home and we've been friends for years, although it has been ages since we had seen each other. We had so much fun, it's always good to catch up with old friends, especially over a few glasses of wine. All I will say about the wine is that I had the worst hangover I've had in probably 5 or 6 years. Ouch.

On another note.....this blog is very private and very cryptic so I write what I want to without having to censor too much. To this tune, I do not feel any sympathy for a person that is in their 30s and still continues to think of themselves as a victim and take no responsibility for their actions. When you do something you have to face the consequences. I have made poor decisions and had to face the repurcussions before. At some point you have to realize that it's not everyone else's fault....you are an adult and you made this decision. No one made you do this. Me choosing to go my own separate way is a consequence to YOUR ACTIONS not something I did because I am so cold hearted.

Fill In The Blanks....

One of my favorite blogs to read is that of Florida based wedding photographer, Scarlett Lillian. Check her out at http://scarlettlillian.net her stuff is amazing! I still dream of having my fantasy wedding one day! Here's hoping!

I got this fill in the blank from her blog....

I AM … Fabulous.
I WANT… to win my pageant in October
I HAVE … the best friends anyone could ask for
I KEEP … my yard looking decent
I WISH I COULD … stop thinking about the past so much
I HATE … when people don't know there, their, and they're and your and you're
I FEAR … I'm losing my looks as I'm starting to look older
I HEAR … the ping ping sound that I got a text a lot...when did talking on the phone become to passe?
I DON’T THINK …. I'm going to workout today
I REGRET … several things
I LOVE … my chihuahua Trinket, she's adorable!
I AM NOT … perfect
I DANCE … like someone who took dance, because I did
I SING … to my dog Trinket
I NEVER … intentionally mean to lead anyone on, although I think it's happened
I RARELY … drink coffee anymore.
I CRY WHEN I WATCH … Steel Magnolias
I AM NOT ALWAYS … friendly
I HATE THAT … I'm so shy and softspoken sometimes
I’M CONFUSED ABOUT … love.
I NEED … a new watch
I SHOULD … save more money

Sour Puss

Last night I made a homemade meal (which is unusual for me...I live on eating out and takeout) and then decided to get my exercise in. As I prepare for the pageant I'm trying to workout every single day. I took my beloved companion Trinket on a 40 minute walk to a park near our house. On the way back we got caught in a violent rainstorm. Trinket does not take kindly to getting wet. The look on her face was priceless. I think it took the phrase "sour puss" to a whole new level. I only wish I had taken a picture. A wet chihuahua is an unhappy chihuahua. Trinket was fuming.

Champagne Wishes!

This is my new blog! I decided I need a new blog because I'm in a new chapter of my life. The biggest change is that I'm single for the first time in 5 years. I've just started dating again...I've been going on first dates for the first time since I was 19 years old and it's been a wild ride. The biggest change I've notice about dating at 24 v. dating at 19 is that I don't waste any of my time seeing someone if I don't like something about them. At 19 I didn't really know what I did and did not like and it was very easy for me to feel like I was in some way obligated to someone...not any more. I also don't get attached quickly either. I really stand back and observe the person. The first date is really just an introduction and nothing more. It has been my observation that by the third or fourth date you start to actually see a little bit of the actual person. I actually don't really like dating. I think guys like dating, but for me it's not particularly fun. I still really miss my old flame and all the fun times we had, and just having a steady boyfriend that I was comfortable with instead of going out on dates with new people. But I guess if I'm not going to be single the rest of my life (not that there is anything wrong with that!) then I have to get out there.....

I'm very excited about fall, about football season, a pageant I'm competing in, and seeing some old friends soon!
