It's So Hot My AC is Panting!

It's so hot, my AC is panting! All I want is one of these:
Sometimes you just can't help but treat yourself, right?

Ladies, I am so frustrated with men right now! I will save you from all the dramas (yes, plural) going on in my personal life of late and say I just don't get them at all! I really don't! Is it just me, or do people just not have relationships anymore? It seems like guys don't want to be in a relationship. It feels like every guy I meet tells me openly that they think I'm cute, pretty, beautiful, etc. and a sweet girl or a nice girl-BUT they just don't want a girlfriend or a relationship. They don't want to be tied down.

It makes me just want to give up on going to the gym and trying to keep my body "hot" -eat at Dairy Queen every day, sit on my couch, and watch soap operas! I'm getting to where I just don't care anymore.

I don't have any problems meeting guys. I meet them everywhere-all the time. Pumping gas in my car, the gym, out...where ever. BUT then they are all invariably a big fat dissapointment! All I can say is BLEEEHHHH.

OK that was my rant for the day.
Hope everyone is having a good week. I'm so ready for the weekend!

Hells Bells It's HOT!

I hardly EVER use profanity-really-but HELLS BELLS it is so hot here in South Carolina! I get tired just walking from my car into my office in the mornings. Yesterday when I got out of the gym my car said it was 106. And of course, when I was in the gym I ran into, as in literally walked smack into, a guy I'm trying to avoid! Such is MY luck! But on to other subjects....

OK so while trying to stay cool (I will NOT complain when it gets cold this winter-I swear!) I've been ordering movies on Demand. I've seen a few good ones. I saw Cape Fear again and it never ceases to terrify me! OMGoodness Robert DeNiro is so scary in that movie. My roommate and I ordered An Education and it's def. worth watching-although it is a little disturbing at parts-it's really good!

By far my favorite has been Crazy Heart. I'll admit that I was following Jessica Simpson's twitter and saw a while back that she watched it and loved it. That got me to thinking that maybe I should check it out. I liked this movie so much I watched it the day I ordered it and then rushed home from work the next day to watch it again!

If you like country music you will probably like this movie. It's a little slow at the beginning, but it gets better and better. I am a huge fan of country music, especially old country music. If you know old country then you probably know "The Chair" by George Strait. That was mine and my ex-boyfriend K's song! Hokey, I know!

And how have I not noticed the wonderfulness of Collin Farrel before? I LOVED him in Crazy Heart. He is my new celebrity crush!

Stay Cool and have a good Hump Day!

Belated 4th Post

This is from my 4th. I LOVE, I mean truly adore, fireworks, so you know seeing them this 4th was my #1 priority. This is me w/ my friends the twins kids. They each have a son. These boys are precious! They wanted to ride in my car (I drive a Mustang) so I took them to Sonic for a late night snack after the fireworks. I must say, they were the best date I've had in some time!
The son that is older is so funny. He's about to start middle school and he seems like he is at such a cute age. He was all impressed and excited that I had a Classic Rock CD in my car, so we jammed out to it LOL. When I was a little bit older than he is I started my love affair w/ Classic Rock. I babysat two little boys starting the summer before 8th grade and going for several years. They were the most well behaved, sweet little boys, and they must be sweet talkers today because I remember them always telling me how pretty they thought I was! After they went to bed there was nothing to do so I would sit and read their Mom's magazines and listen to Classic Rock on the radio. Life was so uncomplicated then. Good memories!

And talk about feeling OLD...my former Stepdad, who I still keep in touch w/, ran into the Dad of these kids not too long ago. The older kid is at Georgia Tech now! Someone I used to babysit goes to Georgia Tech. That is one of the first times I've felt OLD and I didn't like it one bit!

The Lingerie Shower my roommate and I hosted this weekend was a success. I'll post pics soon. The pics are on A's camera and we arent' sure where it's USB cable is.

Hope everyone is having a good Monday!

Finally Friday Catch UP...

So, I have not been on blogger in WEEKS! I thought I would catch you up and then get caught up on reading all of the blogs I follow.

First I did not feel like writing (or doing much of anything) because my "reunion" with my sweetheart from my teenage years CRASHED and BURNED! Not because of anything of MY doing - things were going really well, then he just freaked out one day! It was Memorial Day Weekend, we got in a enormous monster of a fight, and called it quits right then and there.

At first I was so upset! Devestated really. I've loved him for about 10 YEARS. I dated another guy, my ex-boyfriend S, for all of college (about 4 years and some change) and still loved this old flame the whole time. When I was away at college, living in the dorms, I would think about him a lot, even though I had a boyfriend. I guess you just never forget your first love. I so much wanted things to work out this time around. But, I am OK! More than just OK. Seriously. The first ten days were the worst...and I think that goes for almost any breakup. After the first ten days, you start to feel better.

Now, I'm fine! If he does not want to be w/ me, that's his loss and it's too bad for HIM! I've been back to doing the things I enjoy...going out, going to the gym...This is me and my darling A on the river a few weeks ago. What would I do w/out her?!
This weekend we are hosting a Bachelorette Party/Lingerie Shower for one of my dearest friends, so I am excited for that! Hopefully this one should go as planned. Last week we were having a baby shower for another friend and it did NOT go as planned. She didn't show up at work that day, turns out, she was going to the hospital to deliver! So she missed her shower entirely and we went to the hospital to give her the gifts and see her new baby. Even though the shower didn't go as planned, her baby was really the excitment of the week last week!

I won't lie and say I have not had a few minutes of self-pity because ALL my friends are getting married and having babies. Everyone BUT me! It's been a little bit difficult to be around all this wedding stuff (I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding later this month) w/ my breakup, but I'm fine. I'll post pics from the shower when I blog again - it should be a good time. Now, if I can only find the perfect thing to wear...

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! I can't wait to get caught up on all of your blogs.

Going Back to My Roots...

I haven't blogged in so long I almost don't know where to start! To catch up, I'm just going to go with pictures. Here is a picture of me and my roommate/best friend a few weeks ago at a Tractor Pull. For those of you who aren't from the sticks like I am, a tractor pull is a competition where people bring out their tractors and trucks and see who can pull the most weight for a certain length. It's about as country as you can get. I hide it well when I'm in my professional clothes, at my job, and hanging out with my friends from college, but don't be fooled, I am definitely country at my roots. As they say, you can take a girl out of the country...
Yes, that's a camo blanket we are sitting on!

A is the best friend a girl can ask for. We can have fun ANYWHERE, doing ANYTHING, so we made the Tractor Pull a party!

In other news, I'm still seeing the guy I've called "My Mr. Big" on here. Things are going well this time. I'm being cautious this time around so I won't say too much too soon, especially on my blog. I have told my family and some friends I'm seeing him again (well, I guess I may as well have told ALL my friends because I did post some pics of us to facebook, and really, isn't that how everyone finds out everything now days?). Seriously, although I am being cautious, I am over the moon!!

I'm also looking into a business opportunity that I'll post more about later. Another case of not wanting to get overexcited or say too much too soon. I would like to have some "play money" or make some headway on student loans etc.

Now, I have to go get caught up on all my regular blog reads! I feel so out of the loop since I've been taking a break from blogging.

Salon Daydreaming....

I've had a headache for three days now!! It's AWFUL! I think it's allergies-since my car is yellow from pollen I guess that makes sense.

Naturally, the only thing that would make me feel better is indulging in some online shopping. I got a new Miracle Bra (because I always want the girls to be bigger) swimsuit from Victoria's Secret and some clothing...a few things to wear for fun and a few things for work. I got the swimsuit in black and I can't wait to try it out. VS Miracle Bra swimsuits are all I wear and I LOVE them. I've been pretty good about hitting the gym so I'm excited about trying this out!

My newest guilty pleasure if Jerseylicious. I love it!! Secretly, I've wanted to do hair for a long time. My roommate from freshman year reminded me that I was talking about going to hair school way back then. I don't really know why I didn't. I guess I forgot all about it, until she reiminded me.

Tracey is my favorite on Jerseylicious. Maybe I'll go to hair school one day. Right now I'm pretty content with my job.
And I can't leave out my old favorite, Tabatha's Salon Takeover. I love her! I guess it really is my secret wish to do hair since I have been enamored of Tabatha for a while now.

Doesn't doing hair for a living just look like it would be fun?!

Glad it's Hump Day. Hope everyone is having a good week!

Gimme....

"Gimme Just A Little More Time"...even though this is an old song, I think it is MY new favorite song. This song, by General Johnson and The Chairmen of the Board (who I absolutley LOVE - they sing another favorite, Carolina Girls) has been stuck in my head for almost two weeks now. I'm not complaining, I love oldies, and given the giddy mood I've been in since my recent "Mr. Big" reunion, it's been all I want to listen to.

I'm still flying high and on Cloud 9 from it all!!

I copied the video for any of you that want to listen to the song. Enjoy :-)

I need to get caught up on reading all of your blogs!
